Join to start the New Year focused on your wellbeing! Try 25 different programs at The Gathering Place involving movement, nutrition, creative arts and meditation, education, and more. 

Grief & Loss

Support group for adults and families, to help cope with the impact of grief. There are both daytime and evening groups that meet monthly. Our Westlake group meets the second Tuesday of each month, 2:00-3:30pm, and the fourth Tuesday of each month, 6:30-8:00pm. Our Beachwood group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, 6:30-8:00pm. Facilitated by: Karelyz Ortiz Santiago, MSW, LSW and Brittani Davis, MA, LPCC-S, LICSC

Discover your creativity. No experience needed!

Art, Music & Meditation

A relaxation and guided imagery exercise will be facilitated followed by participants completing a piece of artwork using watercolor paint in response. This workshop will be conducted with relaxing music playing. Best for people comfortable with silence and looking for a reflective experience. No art experience necessary. Held at TGP East January 22, 6:30-8:00pm. Presenter: Gabrielle Cooper, LPC, ATR-P
 

Exercise

Wednesdays, 12:30-1:00pm

Exercise class that builds on balance, stability and body awareness.
Balance for Improved Function stresses simple, functional movements, allowing participants to move more efficiently and decrease fall risks. The focus is on building up core stability and balance simultaneously, while at the same time creating a better sense of body awareness.

Exercise

Do you have a fear of falling or worried that your balance is not as good as it used to be? Meet with a Physical Therapist for a balance screening to see if physical therapy might be an option to help you improve your stability. Held at TGP East February 3, 2:00-5:00pm. Held at TGP West February 7, 11:00am-1:00pm.

Cancer Specific Support Groups

Support and education for those diagnosed with any blood cancer and their family members. Facilitators: Mary Fisher Bornstein, LISW-S & Stevi Gutin, RN
 

Exercise

Thursdays, 12:00-12:45pm

This is a strength-based class but will help improve balance, coordination, and endurance as well. Sandy will educate, review proper form, and go over benefits of specific exercises throughout the class. We will utilize dumbbell and bodyweight exercises through the 45 minute workout.

Nutrition

Learn healthy ways to make your pantry staples stretch. Join us to find how simple additions can boost the nutrient content of the meals you prepare for yourself and loved ones. Held February 27, 2:00-3:00pm at NEON Barth House, 931 Nye Rd Cleveland

Cancer Specific Support Groups

Monthly virtual breast cancer support group for those who are newly diagnosed, in treatment and during follow up care. Held virtually the second Tuesday of each month, 6:30-7:30pm. Facilitator: Eileen Coan, MA, MLS
